Scope and Content
These health related studies were prepared by or for the Utah State Planning Board, 1934-1941. One of the State Planning Board's responsibilities was to study the problems and develop plans for health facilities, medical services, sanitation, and disease control. The board collected the following data and surveys included in this series: A Civil Works Administration sanitary survey; a survey of the Utah State Mental Hospital; a public nursing report; mortality statistics; a survey of hospital facilities; a survey of Utah's mental facilities; a lengthy report of the health conditions and facilities in Utah; health policies; and an analysis of the spread of tuberculosis. Also included are reports made by the State Health Department which were created while preparing a health survey. This survey covered such topics as laws, diseases, plagues, registered doctors and dentists, child welfare, expenditures on health, and sanitation problems.
