Summary of Records

Two ledgers documenting the receipts and expenditures of the Expositions Commission for the Panama-Pacific and Panama-California Expositions.

Scope and Content

This series consists of three ledgers documenting the receipts and expenditures of the Expositions Commission for the Panama-Pacific and Panama-California Expositions. The first is the Commission' s Financial Record, which includes summaries of receipts and refunds, and exhibit, budget, and individual expense accounts. Most entries include a note about the nature of the expense or income. The second book is the Commission Treasurer' s Report to the Governor. It includes an itemized list of checks drawn and deposits made. The third volume is the Commission's Voucher Record, which itemizes the expenditures of the Commission.
The Financial Record begins with a summary of total expenditures, receipts from State appropriations, and receipts from other sources. The next section is a summary of expenditures arranged alphabetically by subject. The book concludes with lists of itemized individual expenses, arranged alphabetically by the initial letter of the corporation name or individualsurname. The Report is divided into three sections: checks drawn, deposits in Salt Lake City, and deposits in San Francisco. Each of the three sections are arranged chronologically. The Voucher Record is arranged chronologically, and includes the date, name, number, to which Exposition the amount was charged, and the nature of expense.
