Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains the city's general plan. The general plan, prepared by the municipality, contains comprehensive and long-range plans for the present and future needs of the city, including the growth and development of the land within its boundaries. The plan functions as a guide for decision-making on rezoning and other planning proposals as well as an outline of the goals and policies of the city that guide land use. This plan, adopted July 14, 1997, addresses affordable housing gaps, barriers and needs, funding and priorities, commercial land use policies, industrial business park land use policies, agricultural land use policies, community appearance, urban design, transportation, utilities, public services and facilities, guides to implementation and growth management, long term capital improvements, action plans, and market analysis. The plan was compiled and published by Washington City with the Richard D. Chong and Associates, and Parsons, Brinckerhoff, Quade, and Douglas the Natelson Company.
