Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains minutes from the city council of Huntington. The minutes were kept by the city recorder and document the proceedings of the city council and important decisions made during meetings. The minutes include the date, time, and meeting place; members present and absent; record of discussions regarding ordinances, concerns of citizens, business decisions, city budget and other financial decisions, applications for licenses, and more, plus reports from various city departments including police and fire. This series includes three ledgers in which official minutes that have been approved by the city council are recorded, plus one notebook of draft minutes, and two folders of miscellaneous printed copies of minutes from the ledgers, notices of special meetings, and occasionally, copies of materials discussed during the city council meetings. These minutes are the official record of the proceedings of regularly scheduled, special and emergency council meetings.
Research Note
Physical volumes dating from 1919-1928 and after 1968 are not in the holdings of the Utah State Archives. January 1919 through July 1919 are also not in the microfilm holdings of the State Archives.
