Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains case files for cases handled by the Washington County Probate Court. Numerous case files are missing and those that remain are almost all divorce cases and include such documents as the complaints filed, the court's findings and divorce decrees. The series also contains two guardianship cases.
Research Note
This series contains only a sampling of the cases handled by the court. All of the case files are from divorce cases, except for two guardianship cases. Not all divorce cases heard by the court are represented in the series and there are no case files prior to 1864 or after 1890.
