Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains financial records documenting expenditures and the other fiscal business of the city. The ledgers were kept by the city treasurer and track credits to the city, payments from the city to businesses and individuals, receipts, checks, balances, and other general accounting information. Typically, entries include the name of the person or business, or both, that either owed or was paid by the city and sometimes a brief description of the reason for the transaction, as well as the date and amount.
