Linda, We Will Miss You
For more than a year, Linda Lindstrom has come to the archives every Wednesday to volunteer on a variety of projects. From organizing files for the State Records Committee to indexing, Linda has spent more than 250 hours helping out at the Archives since July 2017.
For the past several months, Linda has been sitting at the little table outside my office every Wednesday morning. Always willing to chat, Linda has spent those mornings pulling metal out of old trademark applications to prepare them for digitization.
While these might seem like mundane tasks, Linda’s dedication has helped us accomplish our mission. Yet, more than helping us, Linda helped the people of Utah by ensuring the preservation of our historic government records and that those records will continue to be available to the public.
We were all quite shocked and saddened yesterday, when we learned that Linda had passed away unexpectedly last week. Our volunteers are part of our Archives family, and as such, Linda will be truly missed. Not just for the hours she put in, but for her kindness, dedication, and support.
For those that knew Linda, condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
