Utah Archivist Wins 2025 CIMA Innovator Award
The Utah Division of Archives and Records Service is proud to announce that Dr. Genesie Miller, Executive Secretary and Archivist for the Utah State Historical Records Advisory Board (USHRAB), has been awarded the 2025 Innovator Award from the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA).
CIMA is a professional organization that brings together archivists, conservators, historians, and records professionals from across the Intermountain West—including Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, and New Mexico. Each year, CIMA presents the Innovator Award to a professional who has demonstrated creativity and forward-thinking solutions in their work, resulting in meaningful improvements to archival programs and services.

Dr. Miller was recognized for her work creating a microgrant program to support Utah Archives Month planning across the state. This initiative made grant funding more accessible, encouraged institutional growth, and strengthened engagement with archives-related programming in communities throughout Utah. Her efforts also streamlined access to training and other essential resources for records keepers and cultural institutions.
Award recipients were honored at a luncheon during CIMA’s Annual Conference, held May 1–2, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Miller on this well-deserved recognition!
