Davis County (Utah). County Sheriff Booking photographs, 1967-1995

This series contains photographs and negatives of persons arrested from 1967 to 1995. They document arrested persons who were booked in the county jail and likely aided in the identification and apprehension of suspects in criminal investigations. The photographs depict persons holding a placard containing the case number and date of the picture. Case numbers have a two digit numerical prefix representing the year they were first booked followed by a unique three or four digit number. Any subsequent bookings for that person still use the original booking number regardless of later arrest date. Throughout the series there are significant gaps in the case numbers. This series also includes a small handful of photographs of a crime lab, various homicide suspects, and the scene of an unintended death. In addition there is a set of booking photographs from 1985 that follow no discernable system of organization beyond separating male and female persons.
