Summary of Records
Scope and Content
These justice dockets document both civil cases and misdemeanors heard by the justice of the peace. Information about each case in the dockets includes the name of the justice of peace hearing the case, names of the plaintiff and defendant, a description of the complaint, date heard, a summary of the case, along with the decision and any penalty imposed, and the signature of the justice of peace. The earliest docket is hand-written in a lined notebook, while the later two dockets are written in pre-printed form books.
