Scope and Content
This series contains two documents verifying the publication of legally required notices in the local Murray newspaper. One notice is for a bond election and the other is for a public hearing regarding the budget adopted by the school board. Because notice of such events was required by law, the publisher of the newspaper provided a Proof of Publication document with the published notice clipped from the newspaper and pasted on the document. The document included a notarized statement and the publisher's signature verifying that the notice had been published over a given period of time. This document was then held as evidence by the school board that it was in compliance with the law.

Custody History
The school district gave the records in this series to the Murray City Museum in 2016. The museum transferred the records to the State Archives in March 2021.
