Scope and Content

This series contains registers kept by Clarkston school teachers. Teachers kept the registers to track student attendance and progress throughout the school year. Included in each register is such information as: the teacher's name; the dates of the school year; the class grade; the names and ages of the students; the students' parents' names; number of years of prior attendance at school; a record of attendance; a record of student grades in subjects like read, writing, spelling, language, geography, arithmetic, history, hygiene, music, and agriculture; and whether or not the student was promoted to the next grade level.

Arrangement

Chronological by school year, alphabetical by student surname.

Custody History

Records in this series were transferred to the State Archives by Clarkston in October 2021.

This series is primarily classified as Public: Records of minors are public 100 years after creation per Utah Code 63G-2-310. The secondary classification is Private: Education records are private per Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).
