Summary of Records

This series contains abstracts of title, articles of incorporation, applications for prospecting permits, a map, and naturalization records that were apparently submitted to the Salt Lake City Land Office, a district office of the General Land Office. It appears that individuals and/or corporations who intended to make use of federal land submitted their permit applications and abstracts along with proof of U.S. citizenship status.

This series contains abstracts of title, articles of incorporation, applications for prospecting permits, a map, and naturalization records that were submitted to the Salt Lake City Land Office, a district office of the General Land Office. It appears that individuals and/or corporations who intended to make use of federal land submitted their permit applications and abstracts along with proof of U.S. citizenship status.
This series also contains printouts, photocopies, and notes from someone who attempted to impose an order to these records prior to their transfer to custody at the Utah State Archives.

Custody History

These records were kept by the Salt Lake City Land Office, a district office of the federal General Land Office. At some point, these records were transferred to the Utah State Historical Society. The Historical Society determined that the records should be transferred to State Archives, since the records were created by a government entity.

These records were acquired from the creating agency through established retention schedules.
