District Court (Third District : Tooele County) Civil registers of actions, 1896-

This series contains volumes used to record documents filed in civil cases before the court. Records and documents pertaining to a particular civil action are filed together by the court clerk and collectively these documents constitute the case file. As these records or actions are filed, the clerk enters them in the registers which comprise this series. A register of actions typically includes the following information for each civil case: names of parties in the case, names of the attorneys for plaintiff and defendant, name of the presiding judge, along with a list of documents filed in the case and corresponding filing dates. The first book in this series includes a couple of criminal cases, but the court soon began recording civil cases in a separate register.
