Coordinating Council of Higher Education

Entity: 166
Entity Type: State Government

Abstract

The Coordinating Council, consisting of 9 members, was created to exercise leadership and coordination of services and programs provided for all public-supported post-high school educational institutions. It did not have the power to supervise individual institutions directly. With the creation of a new State Board of Higher Education in 1969, with substantially different powers and authority, the council was abolished.
