Role of Ombudsman

The Government Records Ombudsman is appointed by the State Archivist. The Ombudsman is knowledgeable with the provisions of GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act) and serves as a resource for the public and government record officers throughout the request and appeal process. The Ombudsman also offers mediation services to attempt to resolve disputes between requesters and respondents. Please note that the Ombudsman does not have access to and does not manage the records of governmental entities.
