0.75 cubic foot and 1 microfilm reel
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains compiled information concerning the history of Washington City. The scrapbook was compiled by city staff in the 1980s to document events, awards, community service, building projects, preservation, and other significant milestones in the city's history. The bulk of the materials in the book are newspaper clippings and photographs, but the book also contains photocopies or original records of event programs, correspondence and meeting minutes.
Arrangement
None.
The original order of this scrapbook has been lost. Prior record from the city indicated that the book was arranged chronologically, presumably by the date the records were added to the scrapbook. However, when the city scanned the book for their records and then returned it to storage, this order was not maintained. Because the actual materials within are not dated, it is not possible to recreate original order. Some pages of the scrapbook contain labels indicated the subject matter and, as best as possible, pages with the same or similar labels have been kept together. Otherwise, no further order was imposed upon the records.Custody History
Records in this series were transferred by Washington City to the State Archives in June 2021.
