Summary of Records

This record contains the sexton's handwritten records for the cemetery. The entries are chronological and may contain names, date and place of birth, parent names, religion, martial status, date, place and cause of death, grave location, date buried, and occupation.

Scope and Content

This series contains a register book used by the sexton to record the identity and location of burials in the cemetery. The book has pre-printed columns for entering such information as the name of the sexton, name of the deceased, date of birth, place of birth, names of parents, religion, marital status, date of death, place of death, cause of death, and attending nurse or physician. The book also provides space to record location of the grave, kind of casket, construction of vault, complexion of the deceased, physical deformities or scars, occupation, and burial date. Over the years, many of these columns were left blank.
