Scope and Content
This series contains proposed and certified budgets from the town of Cornish. The budgets detail the plan of financial operations for a fiscal year, with estimates of proposed expenditures and the proposed means of financing them. Budgets typically cover both general fund revenues and expenditures as well as special revenue funds, capital projects funds, debt service funds, enterprise funds, and others. Also included with some budgets are resolutions for fees and surcharges for city services, resolutions related to taxes and tax rates, resolutions related to capital improvement plans, and other city legislation that relates to or impacts the budget for the given fiscal year. Resolutions are stamped with the official seal and signed by the mayor and clerk. Some records include copies of spread sheets and calculations used to create the finalized budget. Records that include the certification of the budget include the signature of the budget officer and the notary public.
