Scope and Content

This series contains ordinances passed by the town council and document legislative actions by the council to regulate, require, prohibit, govern, control, or supervise any activity, business, conduct, or condition. Ordinances are numbered based on year and order within the year that they were passed, and typically include a title, preamble, ordaining clause, the body of the ordinance, information on when it is applicable, the penalty of violation date, and the effective date, signature of mayor, signature of clerk, and town seal.

Custody History

Records in this series dating 1961-2016 were transferred by Cornish to the State Archives in March 2021.
