Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains copies of legislative bills and related correspondence that document the process the Governor went through to determine if he should sign, veto, or allow a bill to become law without his signature. Case files may contain a copy of the final bill, amendments, transmittal letters, requests for input and response form state agencies affected by the bill, and constituent correspondence expressing opinions of the bill, press conferences, speeches about legislative activities, and newspaper clippings which pertain to specific legislation. The case files may also contain correspondence with the Attorney General's office providing opinions on the legality and constitutionality of a given bill.
