Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series consist of newspaper clippings and video clips related to the administration of Governor Jon M. Huntsman (2005-2009). The records document numerous meetings, events, press conferences, initiatives, interviews, public service announcements, and activities in which the Governor was involved as reported by the local media.
The records were compiled and maintained by the Governor's office staff and were captured in various formats. The first five boxes contain photocopied clippings in hardcopy, whereas boxes 6-15 consist of newspaper clippings stored on CDs and DVDs. Most of the clippings were published in the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune, with a number of weekly and daily newspapers published throughout Utah represented as well. Discs are arranged by date and newspaper.
Box 16 contains numerous video recordings (on DVD) of events that Huntsman participated in such as the Days of '47 parade, local and national television programs, and the Governor's Monthly Newsconferences which were broadcast on KUED (local PBS affiliate). Box 17 includes the monthly news conferences on VHS tapes.
