Monroe (Utah) Ordinances, 1892-

This series contains the legislation enacted by the city council to regulate, require, prohibit, govern, control, or supervise any activity, business, conduct, or condition (Utah Code 10-3-702). The series includes both ordinances as passed by the the council, as well as a codified version adopted in 1912. There are several versions of the 1912 Revised Ordinances, each containing various additions over time. An ordinance typically includes such elements as an ordinance number, a title, the body of the ordinance, an effective date, the signature of mayor or acting mayor, and the municipal seal. The earliest book in the series begins with an index and a copy of the articles of incorporation for the town in 1892.
