Scope and Content

This series contains records kept by the Provo City Department of Parks and Recreation. The Department oversees the management of most of the city's parks, activity centers, golf courses, trails, sports leagues, community programs, swimming pools, the cemetery, and more. These records document the management of the Department and its activities, and include information related to topics such as the acquisition and sale of property, maintenance of buildings and trails, engineering and architecture, safety and upkeep, and implementation of the master plan. Most of the documents have attached paperwork labeled "Document Approval Process" that indicates the steps to approve the record for filing in the City Recorder's office. When complete, the approval paperwork contains signatures from the Finance, Purchasing, Legal departments, and the Chief Administrative Officer, Mayor, and City Recorder. The Department noted the keywords under which they wished the record should be filed.
