Scope and Content

This series contains photographs, negatives, and slides taken by staff at Rockport State Park. The photos document the care and maintenance of the park as well as activities and programming. Subjects include: nature, such as wild animals, birds, and flora; events such as muscleman contests, educational programming, and boating events; military exercises; vandalism; property damage due to natural causes or human causes; park rangers and others at work maintaining trails and roads, conducting scientific studies, and more; construction projects; boating and vehicle accidents; and park signage.

Custody History

Records in this series were transferred to the State Archives by Rockport State Park in October 2017.

Access Restrictions

Though access to this series is not restricted, researchers and processing staff should be aware that some of the folders documenting accidents at the park contain graphic and gruesome images.
