Series 30151Nebo School District (Utah). Payson District School Register
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains a single Utah School Register, published as a tool for recording information about students, tracking attendance, and noting scholastic performance. This particular register was used by teacher Frank Fairbanks, who taught the 5th and 6th grades. Information recorded about the students included name, age, color, parent, place of residence, and number of years the student did not attend school since age six. Mr. Fairbanks recorded student attendance, but did not use the book for recording academic evaluations. The book also includes some notes about holidays and times of quarantine, as well as a register of visitors to the class.
By gender, thereunder alphabetical by student name.
Official transcripts from Nebo School District (Utah), Series 84708, contain student records from the Nebo School District, including schools in Payson.
The single register in this series was apparently kept by the teacher, Frank Fairbanks, and passed down through generations of his family. A descendant donated it to the State Archives in July 2021.
This series is classified as Public.
