Summary of Records

This series contains the official record of the proceedings of regularly scheduled, special, and emergency City Council meetings. The minutes are typically approved by the council during their next public meeting. The minutes usually include such information as the meeting date, time, place; members present and absent; the substance of matters discussed; and a records of any decisions made.. Earlier volumes include records of attendance for council members. The series contains some draft minute books created by the city recorder as an initial record. Final version of the minutes were then recorded in the official minute books. The draft minutes may contain some unique information, including notes from one meeting in May 1917 that were not recorded in the official minutes.
