MX Missile Policy Board Administrative records, 1979-1981.

This series contains a variety of records created by the MX Missile Impact Policy Board over the two-year period that they were engaged in planning for the MX system. It includes financial records from the agency and status reports to the Four Corners Regional Commission documenting the completion of certain duties. The series also contains a variety of correspondence handled by the office, including correspondence with the U.S. Air Force, correspondence with the MX Coordination Office (based in Salt Lake City), correspondence with Utah Governor Scott M. Matheson, and correspondence from local interests and private citizens voicing their views of the potential impact of MX on the region. The MX Missile Impact Policy Board help regular meetings and copies of meeting minutes are found in this series. The board was also tasked with providing analysis and response to various reports from private contractors hired by the U.S. Air Force to conduct field study research. Both copies of those reports, as well as staff comment appear in this series. Finally researchers can expect to find a variety of published materials (newspapers, pamphlets, etc) that were issued in conjunction with providing information on the MX proposal to the general public.
