Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains minutes of regular and special meetings of the Board of Education. They are created to document the actions and decisions of the Board. The minutes record such matters as adoption of annual budgets, approval of expenditures, and creation of district policies. Minutes typically include such information as the time and place of meeting, board members present, summary of proceedings, and decisions made by the board. Many of the minutes in this series are accompanied by materials related to issues discussed in the meetings. The records from 1997 through 2008 include the meeting materials for each meeting date. Among those materials are the minutes to be approved from the previous meeting and not the minutes from that meeting. The earliest records in this series are from District School No. 7 in Croyden and predate the consolidated county school district that was created in 1908..
Research Note
The microfilm in this series does not include minutes from July 1942 thru June 1946. It is not known if the original records from this period have survived.
