Series 8560Spring City (Utah) Interment register
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series documents burials in the Spring City Cemetery in the form of an historic, century-old, handwritten ledger maintained by the sexton. Ledger columns include the name of the deceased, their dates of birth and death, parents' names, the location of the grave, the cause of death, and the name of the doctor or medical attendant at the time of death. Not all columns are completed for all individuals. Cemetery block and lot numbers have been recorded since 1892. Recording individual grave space/site information was sporadic from the mid-1970s until it became standard practice in 1999. A partial list of sextons and their beginning dates of service is written on the inside of the front cover.
Chronological by date of death.
Spring City transferred the record in this series to the State Archives in May 2019.
This series is available on microfilm.

The register volume was filmed in August 2009. The filming includes deaths through April 16, 2009 (through pages 124-125). Archival processing originally was completed by A. B. Schmuland in July 2000 using an April 1991 filming (which has since been deaccessioned). The catalog record was updated in October 2009 by W. Glen Fairclough, Jr. Once the record was transferred to the Archives in May 2019, the series was archivally processed by Mahala Ruddell in January 2020.
