Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains minutes of regular and special meetings of the County Commission, including meetings of the commission in its role as the county Board of Equalization. The minutes serve as the official record of actions and decisions of the commission. Commission minutes record the results of local elections, appointments of county officials, the receipt of citizen's petitions, the adoption of annual budgets, the review of tax receipts and rates, and the discussion of public services such as roads, water, sewage, police and fire protection. Minute books typically include the time and place of the meeting, names of commissioners present and absent, along with a summary of the proceedings and decisions made by the commission.

Commission minutes between 5 Sep 1916 and 1 Jan 1919 were missing at the time this series was microfilmed in 2004.
