Bingham Canyon (Utah) Minutes, 1904-1972.

This series consists of the minutes kept by the Bingham Canyon City Council, 1938-1971. The records prior to June of 1938 are Town Board Minutes for Bingham Canyon. Minutes for one 1972 meeting of the administrators for the disincorporation of Bingham Canyon are included in the final volume of City Council minutes. This series documents the decision- making process of the municipal council of Bingham Canyon, providing a historical record of the decisions of the municipal government and, consequently, a history of the major events in the community. The minutes include information such as the names of those present at the meetings; time, date, and location of the meetings; roll call vote results; lists of expenditures; motions made; and decisions made by the municipal government. Topics include approval of payment of bills, approval of budgets, approval of appointments to municipal jobs, consideration of proposed ordinances, provision of public works, canvassing of elections, and anyother matter of immediate concern to the community. Occasionally, additional documents have been inserted into the volumes. These documents include affidavits from municipal officers in support of loan applications.
