Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains files for cases handled by the court dealing with probate matters. These matters most commonly relate to the settlement of the estates of deceased persons, but also include adoptions of minor children, guardianships of minors and incompetent persons, and occasionally such matters as name changes and the dissolution of corporate bodies.

Numerical by case number and generally chronological by initial filing date.

This series is primarily classified as Public. The secondary classification is Exempt: Records containing information about adoptions are sealed for one hundred years after the birth date of the adopted child. (Utah Code 78B-6-141).
