Summary of Records

This series contains the official record of the proceedings of regularly scheduled, special and emergency town board and later city council meetings. The minutes include date, time, and place of meeting, name of members in attendance and those absent, a record of subjects discussed, statements of intent, and a record of actions taken. The series also contains a notebook containing clerks notes of meetings from which the official minutes were created.

Scope and Content

This series contains the official record of the proceedings of regularly scheduled, special and emergency town board and later city council meetings. The minutes include date, time, and place of meeting, name of members in attendance and those absent, a record of subjects discussed, statements of intent, and a record of actions taken. The series also contains a notebook containing clerks notes of meetings from which the official minutes were created.

Research Note

The only obvious gaps in the series are in the time period of 1932-1933, when minutes from a number of meetings are missing. Otherwise, there are no known significant gaps in the records.

Roughly chronological

This series was received from the agency in a state of disorder. Archives staff worked to recreate the original chronological order prior to microfilming. The records were microfilmed, but there were still occasional meeting minutes that were out of order by a month or two or even a year in some cases.
