Scope and Content

A copy of prepared statements or announcements issued for distribution to the news media. A press release may be a textual record or a non-textual record such as a film or video sound recording.

Notes

Renee Wilson sent an email to ARO Diane Wilson on May 30, 2019, enquiring whether some series should be combined. Diane replied on May 30, 2019, "...I would keep News Releases separate, since we created those for the office announcements, and weren't necessarily picked up by newspapers. And I would also keep Press Packets [series 2505] separate, as those contain hot topics, must sees, and other relevant topics for the current time that we would pass along to journalists, hoping they would write create [sic] stories on Utah." -RMW, 31 May 2019
