Castle Dale (Utah)

This series contains two sets of bonds issued by the Town of Castle Dale and the City of Castle Dale.

This series contains two sets of bonds issued by the Town of Castle Dale and the City of Castle Dale. The first bond series are water bonds and were issued on 15 April 1914. The second series are refunding bonds issued 15 April 1924. The bonds were issued as a method of borrowing money and were issued in a set of denominations, such as $100 or $500, that would be paid off over time. As payments on the debt were made, the city received small coupons as evidence of payment and when a single bond was paid off the city received the bond. The city pasted the bonds and accompanying coupons into an unused book originally intended as a jail book record.
