The purposes of the committee include serving as a forum for data users and providers in Utah to discuss all aspects of health data systems; recommending policies relating to collection, maintenance, processing, use, and distribution of health statistics; recommending the development of data systems; recommending evaluation research in measuring availability and use of medical resources, community health status, and health program evaluations; and helping ensure cooperative efforts in the collection of health statistics between the bureau and other agencies.
