This docket contains completed forms concerning misdemeanor cases heard by the justice of the peace court. The cases largely concern public intoxication and disturbing the peace violations, but also include many traffic violations. Recorded information includes: names of defendant, attorney, dates, changes in actions, fines, decisions, pleas, judgments rendered, and signature of the justice of the peace. The volume contains an alphabetical index listing the name and page number.

This series contains records documenting criminal cases heard by justices of the peace in Provo. Cases heard by the justice are generally misdemeanor cases involving such charges as public intoxication, selling liquor without a license, and disturbing the peace. Information in the records may include name of defendant, attorney, dates, charges, pleas, judgments rendered, and signature of the justice of the peace. The earliest volume, dating from 1884-1886, was used by Justice of the Peace Amos Holdaway, and besides the usual misdemeanor cases also contains several marriages. The volume from 1886-1890 was apparently kept at the city offices and used by the various justices to record the cases they heard. Justices who used that book included Justices John E. Booth, A. O. Smoot, Jr., William H. Brown, W. D. Alexander, James E. Talmage, and Alonzo A. Noon. The latest volume, dating from 1906-1909, was used exclusively by Justice Alonzo A. Noon. The volumes from 1886-1890 and 1906-1909 contain an alphabetical index.
