Department of Commerce. Division of Contractors

The Division managed the licensing of contractors. Prior to 1957, contractors were licensed by the Dept. of Registration. In 1957, a Contractors Dept. was created under the Business Regulation Dept. In 1981, UCA 58-23 was repealed and amended, new UCA 58A-1-5 says all references to Contractors Department means Contractors Division In 1983, legislation was repealed and reenacted, contractors became a division of the Business Regulation Dept. In 1988, UCA amended, contractors division no longer part of Business Regulation Dept., employees disperse.
