Abstract

The Utah Safety Council is a membership-based, non-profit organization. The Utah Safety Council was founded in 1936 and established as the Utah Traffic Safety Council in 1939. In 1945, the scope of the Council's programming extended to non-traffic areas. From 1951 to 2001, the Utah Safety Council also functioned as a division of the Utah Department of Public Safety. In 1956 the Utah Safety Council became a Chapter of the National Safety Council.
