Scope and Content
This series contains press releases (which consist of statements, proclamations, speeches, reports, appointments, and any other information that Governor Rampton presumably wished to be released to the press) as well as official memoranda to heads of state departments. Also included in this series are documents generated for Rampton's third gubernatorial campaign in 1972, no doubt for publicity purposes.
Chronological by date.
Materials dated 1965 are divided into categories of "general" and "appointments;" materials dated 1972 are divided into "general" materials and "reports on Rampton's gubernatorial record, speeches." Undated materials have been kept in the order in which they were found.
Democratic party records from the Governor Rampton, Series 1260, contains additional materials regarding Rampton's 1972 re-election campaign.
Proclamations and declarations from the Governor Rampton, Series 17582, contains information about events that may have resulted in press releases as well.
Executive orders from the Governor Rampton, Series 20733, contains information about events that may have resulted in press releases as well.
Newspaper clippings from the Governor Rampton, Series 20778, are the releases issued by the office which resulted in some of these articles.
Board and commission appointment files from the Governor Rampton, Series 20840, may include appointments for which the Governor's office issued press releases.
