These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains DVD copies of two videos of celebrations held in Providence. One DVD has a copy of film footage taken of activities on 24 July 1949 and the other from the Providence sesquicentennial celebration 20 April 2009. The original silent color film footage from 1949 was taken by Seth Alder and shows a parade through town, followed by a pageant on the town square. The pageant appears to depict scenes of pioneer settlers and conflict with Indians. It also has some black and white footage of Providence participants in a parade in Logan. The 1949 footage lasts about 22 minutes. The 2009 video is a montage showing scenes and life in Providence. It includes scenes of the town, businesses, and people involved in various activities. It runs about 3 1/2 minutes.
