District Court (Third District : Tooele County) Probate registers, 1896-

This series contains volumes used to log documents filed in probate cases before the court. Probate cases involve such matters as settlement of estates of deceased persons, guardianships, adoptions, and name changes. Records and documents pertaining to a particular probate action are filed together by the court clerk and collectively these documents constitute the case file. As these records or actions are filed, the clerk logs them in the registers which comprise this series. A register typically includes the following information for each case: name of the individual in the case and a description of the type of case (i. e. estate, adoption, etc.), along with a list of documents filed in the case and corresponding filing dates.
