Summary of Records

This series contains books used to record services the sheriff's office performed in various court cases and for which the sheriff charged a fee. The most common services included serving summons, executions, and garnishments. There were also charges for such things as mileage, posting notices, and conducting sales of property. The pre-printed forms in the books provide space for noting the parties in the each case, the attorneys involved, and columns for listing services, dates, fees, and payments. It appears that these books only record services rendered in civil cases.
