Schedule Description

Series inventories specifically identify the contents of each processed record series held by the Utah State Archives. The series inventory is the main finding aid used in the Research Center and provides the following information about a record series: Creating agency, series title, creation and ending dates, total volume, series description, records arrangement; related records, by series title and number, research notes, access restrictions, processing notes, and a container list. Some inventories may also include indexes to the series created by the Archives. The paper format of this series is kept in red binders in the Archives Research Center. A second format is available via the Archives web page, and a third format used for updating the paper format is kept in a WordPerfect file.

Notes

Pre-internet, finding aids were created on paper and kept in red binders in the research center. Post-internet, these were put in boxes and stored in the ASRS. The plan was to go through them and add any needed information to appx. Jim said he'd like to make these 25 boxes a volunteer project. Meanwhile, this series has been a placeholder for the project. This series was end-dated because it is not a retention schedule, it's a project.
