Summary of Records

In compliance with Utah law (Laws of Utah, 1917, chapter 99, section 18), Sevier County annually compiled lists of all male residents 18 to 45 who were eligible for military service. These lists include name, residence, age, occupation and remarks relating to marital status, number of children, whether a widow's son, or other factors which might bear on individual availability for military service.

Scope and Content

In compliance with Utah law (Laws of Utah, 1917, chapter 99, section 18), Sevier County annually compiled lists of all male residents 18 to 45 who were eligible for military service. These lists include name, residence, age, occupation and remarks relating to marital status, number of children, whether a widow's son, or other factors which might bear on individual availability for military service.

Arrangement

Potential servicemen's names are arranged on separate lists based on age. The first list, compiled in 1917, includes boys 18-22. The second, compiled in 1918 includes boys 18 years of age. The third list, compiled in 1917, includes men 23-45, and the fourth, compiled in 1918, includes men 19-45. Within each group, names are loosely arranged according to community of residence.
