Scope and Content
This series is comprised of three index books kept by the clerk of the Fifth District Court in Beaver County. The books provide names of parties, place where recorded (record book, judgment docket, minute book, etc.), and usually a case or file number for actions taken in civil, criminal, and probate cases heard by the court. The file numbers can be used to track both the case file generated by the court as well as entries maintained in the assorted registers of action kept by the clerk. While the content remains roughly the same the manner by which information was recorded varies between the three volumes.

Probate record books from the District Court (Fifth District : Beaver County), Series 1053, contains the records that are cited as "PR" throughout these indexes.
Minute books from the District Court (Fifth District : Beaver County), Series 1394, contains the records that get cited as "MB" throughout these indexes.
Judgment record books from the District Court (Fifth District : Beaver County), Series 13138, contains the record books that are often cited as "Judgment" throughout these indexes.
Civil case files from the District Court (Fifth District : Beaver County), Series 24290, contains index books for cases cited in the civil registers between 1896 and 1925.
Criminal registers of actions from the District Court (Fifth District : Beaver County), Series 24378, provides index information which can be used to identify the case file numbers cited in the register of action.
