Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains the official record of regular and special town council meetings. The minutes describe the issues discussed in meetings and record any votes or official actions taken by the council. The minutes typically include the date and time of the meeting, the council members present, the business handled, and the time of adjournment. The official copy is usually signed by the city recorder. Later minutes often include related attached documents handed out to council members at each meeting.
Research Note
Town Council minutes would presumably have been created starting in 1936 when the town incorporated. When the records were microfilmed in 2015, no minutes could be found prior to 1968. Minutes from 1990-1998 were also missing.
