There is no evidence of any organizational or administrative structure for this agency and nothing to suggest that commissioners were anything other than additional court officers, as were judges, court clerks, and assistant court clerks. Present-day organizational structure includes court commissioners with such other court officers as judges, clerks, assistant clerks, bailiffs, court reporters, etc., which is evidence that a similar structure probably existed prior to statehood.
