Weber County (Utah). Commission for the Poor

The Commission wrote reports regarding the poor in their district, including who was making use of the poor houses. County courts were tasked to provide for the care and maintenance of the indigent sick or the otherwise dependent poor, transients and residents of the county, as well as erect and maintain hospitals and poor houses. In addition, there would be a farm and work shops in connection with the county hospital or poor house.
